Cash assets in your super

Some of your super may be invested in cash. Your asset types may vary – but will often include currencies and foreign exchange spots.

Cash Deposits

If you have cash assets, they ll be made up of formally recognised currencies. These include the Australian Dollar, US Dollar, British Pound, Indian Rupee and Japanese Yen.

Foreign Exchange Spot

This type of asset is a contract between two parties to buy one currency in exchange for another. It’s at an agreed ’spot' price (which is the exchange rate 'right now') and at a mutually-agreed date.
